  • Attorney Kevin Lonergan

    Partner/Shareholder

Kevin Lonergan is the President of the Herrling Clark Law Firm, and he is honored to have been recognized as one of the top lawyers in the state. Kevin was named to the Super Lawyers list of the top 50 lawyers in the state of Wisconsin. In 2015, he had the distinct privilege of being named Wisconsin’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Wisconsin Association for Justice. As of Kevin’s nomination and selection, only 14 other lawyers had received the same honor in the organization’s almost seventy-year history. He is one of the few lawyers in the State of Wisconsin who have been named to the "Super Lawyer" list (top 5% of all attorneys in the state) each and every year that Super Lawyers have been recognized. Kevin is recognized within the legal community for handling complex litigation matters for clients with catastrophic injuries and for clients who have lost loved ones. Although most cases settle, he has a reputation for trying cases and has had a high percentage of cases where the ultimate jury verdicts far exceeded the insurance companies’ pre-trial offers of settlement. Kevin has handled many million or multi-million dollar cases. In addition to being named Wisconsin’s Trial Lawyer of the Year, Kevin is rated 10 out 10 by AVVO, he has previously been named the top personal injury and products liability lawyer in the Fox Cities area, and he has been rated one of the top trial lawyers nationally. A board certified civil trial specialist by the accredited National Board of Trial Advocacy, Kevin has also received the highest possible national ratings for legal ability and ethics by an international rating service. Kevin has been a regular guest as a personal injury specialist on the local WHBY radio program and he has been interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio with regard to protecting the rights of injured people. Kevin was elected and served as the president of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers (now known as the Wisconsin Association for Justice), the most prominent organization of personal injury trial lawyers in the state, after having served as secretary, treasurer, and vice-president. He was elected and served as the president of the Outagamie County Bar Association and was twice elected in state wide elections to the board of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Kevin is a former chairperson of that prestigious board. He is currently the chair of the State Bar’s Public Education Committee. Recently, Kevin was named a “Fellow” of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, an honor bestowed on only 2-1/2% of all practicing lawyers. He has also served as a member of the Law Foundation’s Board of the Directors and was recently elected to the position of 2nd Vice President. He has been a part-time Court Commissioner for Outagamie County since 1988. Kevin has authored numerous articles and has been a frequent lecturer at seminars designed to educate lawyers about the handling of personal injury cases. For more than a decade, he was the host of a TV show called "You and the Law," where he interviewed prominent guests and moderated debates, including several debates involving candidates for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Kevin has been very active in community-related activities, including radio and TV shows, past board membership for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Casa Clare Halfway House, and the Aces/Xavier Foundation. He is also actively involved in his church. Kevin is particularly proud of the twelve years that he spent working with high school students as the Attorney Coach for the Xavier High School Mock Trial Program. For nine of those years, his teams placed in the top five teams within the state, and Xavier earned state championship accolades in 2009, 2011, and 2012. One of those teams placed 7th at the National Competition.
